What falls during winter part 1

So here are the first batch of photos taken during Oliver and Anne's big day. I'm dividing this post to two parts. First part would be the wedding day itself and the second one would be the reception which was held in KDCA. I haven't started compiling all the pictures during the reception yet, so part two of this post will have to wait lah.

Just a lil reminder, I don't own a canggih-manggih camera (I only have a point & shoot one at the moment) and I ain't no Louis Pang so the picture quality might not be as good lah. Credit goes to Jesse as some of these photos were taken from her d-cam.

19th September 2008

The make-up artist (which I can't recall his name but is a nice guy) came over at noon and started doing Anne's make-up.

Photobucket
Here's Audrey, the bridesmaid.

Photobucket

After having our make-up done and getting dressed, we were ready to go!
Photobucket

Photobucket
Jeremy was assigned to be the driver of the day.

Photobucket
I was surprised to see this big siga at the Donggongon roundabout when I arrived home on Wednesday morning. Kinda cool but what's up with the nenas sculpture situated at the Yue Min's roundabout?

Photobucket
Audrey, Adik who was assigned to bring the precioussssss(Smeagol's voice) rings and Anne.

The funny thing was that, we arrived early than the groom! lol so we had to wait inside the car for about 15 minutes for Evor and everybody to arrive.
Photobucket
Drey, Avin the big bro and Evor.

Photobucket
Neo the bestman, Evor the groom and Jay the 2nd bestman.

The wedding mass was held in St. Paul's Dontozidon catholic church. It was my first time going to that church actually. It's kinda small but quite nice la cos more open air than St. Mike's.
Photobucket
Jesse, Anne and me...taken after Anne's last confession as a single woman :)

Mass started at 3pm and Arnold was assigned as the first reader.
Photobucket

So after hearing the gospel and sermon from the priest, it was time to bless the rings.
Photobucket
Si adik sempat lagi main sama tu cincin bah.

If you've been to a typical kadazan+catholic wedding here in KK, then you'll know how the drill goes lah. After exchanging the rings, it was time for them to say the vows.

Priest: Jadi apakah yang patut anda buat seterusnya?
Evor: *blur* ????
Us: LOL!
Photobucket
I now pronounce you Chuck & Larry husband and wife. Yay!

When the mass was ended, it was time for photo session with the newlyweds.

Photobucket

Dad, Mom and Aunty Onong.

Bride's family. Sepa bah si Evor tinguk tu?
Photobucket

Groom's family, all clad in baju maludu which is the Kadazan's traditional costume. Nice!
Photobucket

Mom, me, Anne, Evor and dad. My bro couldn't make it since he has class during the week.

Photobucket

Mierah who came a few minutes late cos she has trial exams, me, Jesse & Drey.

With Mary, Marie and Geri.

Photobucket
Adrian, Mierah and me.

Photobucket
The bridesmaid, the MOH, the bride, the groom, the bestman and the bestman number 2. Wee~I love this photo.

Napa bah muka si Evor ni? Garang juga lol.

This is my favourite photo during that day :) I'm gonna frame this up and give it to you both soon!

Photobucket

The photo session took quite a long time, so we didn't had the chance to isi our perut during the tea-time session. We arrived home at about 6pm and later after changing our dresses and freshen ourselves up, we adjourned to Kampung Sarapung (Evor's place) for dinner and aramaiti-ing.

This is one of the favourite kadazan dish, called Soko that I tidak brapa pandai makan. It's pork with rebung.
Photobucket

We hung out for a while, just talking and laughing and recalling the wedding service in the afternoon.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Typical kadazan wedding misti mau moginum punya but, I didn't drink la of course.
Photobucket

Randy, Merl and Neo. Randy was totally drunk that night cos he said band boys instead of boy bands lol.
Photobucket

Photobucket

At about 10pm, we (the girls) went over to KDCA cos we were asked to help and arrange the chairs for tomorrow's reception dinner. The people from Ching Fah was already there setting up the makan booth, VIP tables as well as the backdrop. We reached home at midnight feeling super drained and sleepy. Luckily, we finished doing the door gifts earlier! Kalau tidak, nda dapat tidur lah. Anyways, we were relieved that the wedding went well despite all the circumstances that we had to go through especially when there are so many people suddenly wanna campur tangan but still...it was good! There was a moment during the wedding service where I almost cried haha...but nasib baik can tahan my tears from falling out bah.

So next up would be the reception dinner...coming soon ok! Oh ya Anne, if you want these photos, you can get it from Jesse.

On some other note: ManU won the match last night. Wohoo! Didn't get the chance to watch it but managed to catch the short replay on Final Score last night. I did watched the entire match between Arsenal vs Hull City though when I went out for yamcha with Ivan. Sad to say, Arsenal lost to an underdog club haha. Kesian bah.

Oh man, Monday is coming too soon! I don't like 9am classes! Phew...okay, gotta go and spend the last few hours of Sunday before a brand new week starts off again. I'm in download frenzy mode again after sooo long not doing so. It's cos the new Season of my current favourite TV shows are out now!

Still sick...but recovering

Hai iz me again! I know I haven't really updated anything here since I came back from KK. It's just that I was still sick (it's been 2 weeks now) but I'm feeling better now cos I went to see the doc on Thursday...FINALLY! to get some medicines so that I can get well soon. Seriously, this being sick thing is really dragging down all my semangat to do anything cos all I think of doing while being sick was to get a good rest and sleep. But I hope I'll be better by next week :)

How time flies...it's already been a week since I left KK and at this moment, I really wish that I am still there bah. I'll upload the pictures real soon... (cross my fingers and hope I can upload it by tonight). I know it's been taking me a while to do so BUT sia sakit bah, tulah bikin lambat nih. Anyways, I'm in the office right now marking a bunch of essays for Design 2 class. Yesterday during Design 1 class, I almost screwed things up cos suddenly I was so confused while explaining what 'complementary colour' is. *sigh*

Oh, I've got this award from Inobong Proper and Beautiza. Thank you! But I'm not tagging anyone cos...lazy bah :) But thanks a lot anyway.

Tonight, ManU vs Bolton!

CR scored the opening goal during the Carling Cup third round match against Middlesbourgh. This is what I'm talking about man!

Okay, need to continue with the markings. Have a good weekend people! Heading to Summit later cos I'm bored with Pyramid now heh.

To my best friend

This post is dedicated to my best friend, Anne Marie Ambrose.

**I may not be good with words like you are but here goes.

I couldn’t help but to recall all the fond memories that we’ve shared throughout the years. Growing up with you has been one of the most enjoyable thing that’s ever happened in my life. From playing paper dolls and Barbies, bathed together lol!, writing letters to each other (even though our houses are just few seconds apart), main getah, bubut-bubut, cycling around the kampung (and sometimes ventured to the other kampung), joining the choir and Christmas carols, then when we almost hit puberty, we started to be interested to the members of the opposite sex and we’ll gush about them and also our very own crushes almost everyday. Not forgetting being a big fan of The Moffatts (we’ve also watched the live concert on VCD almost everyday hoping that one day, Scott and Bob will be our husbands). You were great at sports during the days. You’ve started playing football with your brothers while I just stood at one corner cos I totally sucked at it. You’ve influenced me to like watching WWF Smackdown/Raw that I ended up being a fan of The Hardy Boyz till now. Remember how you virtually married to Chris Jericho? We even printed out the wedding cert lol!

If I could really turn back time, I would love to go back to do all the things together again but I know it is not possible to do so. Over the years, you’ve grown to be a stronger person and I am really proud of you for always trying your best to not always be dependable on other people. I remembered clearly when we were still in high school, you had to take the responsibility to become the big sister and take care of Arnold and Audrey. Even though you knew how screwed up things were, the house condition, financial and all that, you would still stand up strong and go through all the obstacles in life without much complain. Did I tell you that your Ma Ling goreng is one of a kind? I like it cos it’s crunchy and I used to have one or two piece when I kawan you to masak dinner in the kitchen. There is a whole list of things that we did together but it’ll take a long time for me to list everything down here.

Finishing high school means we’re opening yet another new chapter in life. I had to be away most of the time pursuing my dream to be a designer (but still, I am not up there yet) while you had to take up jobs to survive and also help your family. There I was thinking how lucky I am to still have my mom to support me over the years. If I was a millionaire, without any doubt I would help you to pursue your dreams and lessen your burden but at this point, I really can’t do much but to just be that someone to be there for you. I’ve seen you going through a lot of hardships and I too, want to learn to be like you by working hard to achieve something (unlike some people who gets married to a rich man and uses the money given to buy a LV bag).

Last week, on September 19th, I witnessed you marrying Evor, the guy you’ve had a crush on when you’re in Form 1 but he just sees you as Jay’s little sister and constantly called you Anne Marie Victoria 1 Putih! at that time. I don’t know how fate works but we really can’t underestimate the power that God has. How he ended up reuniting the both of you after all the years not seeing each other is still an interesting question that I’ve been wanting to know the answer to. In a way, Evor has already a part of the family since he’s been Jay’s best friend for so many years and that’s why I was to be happy to see you finally marrying the love of your life.

I honestly didn’t think I did a great job being your Maid of Honour (MOH) cos I think Audrey deserves the title more than me. I’ve watched Made Of Honour and seen how Partick Dempsey has always been there for his best friend but I wasn’t even there when you’re doing all the planning’s for your wedding. I honestly hated to be away and not being able to give out a helping hand but I just don’t have that much choice since I am working here in KL. There wasn’t much I could do being back home two days before your wedding day but all thanks to Merl, Jesse, Drey and Adrian, we as Merl had said ‘divided and conquered’ to make your wedding special.

There are still so many things I wanted to say but I really don’t know how to put it in words. I wish you and Evor all the best as husband and wife and I totally forgot to wish the both of you a BIG CONGRATS since we were all so busy entertaining the guests. I hope that we could still hang out like we used to even though you’re a married woman now. I hope we could still have the girly days out with the other half a dozen craze, go to the movies, makan bak kut teh in Ming or mee Tuaran in Ching Fah, still cheer over our favourite football team, Italy even though a lot of people disses them like crazy, watch Manchester United vs Liverpool (if there’s any chance) or just simply go for a drink at the coffeeshop. Thank you for always been the bestest friend to me and for being the most understanding person to me for so many years. Nobody could ever take your place and remember I am always there for you in your ups and downs no matter how near or far I am. I LOVE YOU sooooo much! Can’t wait to see you again when I am back for Christmas. Evor, jaga Anne bagus-bagus k!

And so...the star player is finally out but yesterday's match against Chelsea turned out to be a draw. Macam mana la ni?? Ish.

Sumakit

UPDATED [2013 hours]: I've got one and a half hour to go before I finally can fly back. Currently sitting at LCCT's Coffee Bean to curi some wireless line. I am still very sick! I thought I would be better today but it's worse. Self reminder: No cold drinks and deep-fried foods. Actually I don't even know what to write...oh, I forgot one important thing in the office and I've just realised it when I opened my backpack just now. So yeah...hope to get better before Friday la. Okay, gonna go and watch some random youtube videos now. See Ya!

In Kadazan language, it basically means sick cos I am finally feeling it right now. Started with the throat and now it slowly goes up to the cough. Darn, I knew that I'm gonna start having cough and flu but yet, I still order milo ais when I when out for a drink with Ivan a while ago. This is definitely not cool! Especially at times like this where I am supposed to be super stoked because I am jetting off to KK tonight but, being sick has dragged my excitement down NOT forgetting the endless paper works that I've got to deal with in work. Man, when will it ever ends?

Okay, got to think positive here. So yeah, I am finally going back to Penampang! Though it'll be only be for a short while, 5 days to be exact but I am glad that I finally can go back home where I can sleep in my own room and wake up in the morning looking at Mount Kinabalu from the distance instead of LDP highway. Of course looking forward to attend Anne and Evor's wedding too. That's the whole reason why I am going back to Penampang :)

I'm not sure if I can get internet access when I'm home but I'll try my best to update if I can, if not then...you'll just have to wait lah. So here's wishing everyone a great week ahead!

P/S:ManU freaking lost to Liverpool! Wtf man. Ish, tunggu ja tu star player kluar. Menang berabis tu MU nanti heheh.

P/P/S: Big thanks to Reis who'll be taking over my Friday class for this week :)

Done!

Merdeka project is officially done! *crosses fingers* I'd appreciate if no one will bug me with anything related to this project anymore because the new term has just started and I would really want to focus on the teaching and tutoring now. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students who're involved with the project since day one and special thanks to those who came and helped out during the set-up and dismantling artworks in The Gardens.

Complied a bunch of photos into a slideshow to show it during the appreciation dinner last night. Not that great lah since it was my first time using iMovie but do watch it anyway, if you want to. Today is gonna be my first time teaching Design 1 and holy molly, I have not finished doing all my slides yet. It's already 1:46am now and my class starts at 9.30am. If I did survived today, then I will definitely be thanking the man above.

Right, back to work.

1st day

Got myself a haircut yesterday. Actually, I've had this kind of hairstyle last year (just look at my profile picture on the right) Oh well, at least my head feels lighter now. Although I currently like having long hair, it is kind of hard to maintain it in this humid climate, somemore I've got thick hair. It's different compared to when I was in NZ. I kept it long so that it can cover up my neck during the cold days but here in Malaysia...panas bah.

First day of the new term was okay. Had only one class on Monday but geez, it starts at 9am! I still have not finished preparing my lectures for this coming Friday. How? Luckily I don't have any classes today so I shall devout my entire time preparing my lectures and oh, before I forget...need to do a photo slideshow for this coming Thursday's Merdeka appreciation dinner. So much things to do in soooo little time.

You know what's the agony of being a educator? It's when you need to meet the parents of your students. Sigh. But I'll just save this story for another time lah cos right now bed time!

Rainy cold Saturday

The one thing that I always look forward on Saturday night is to watch another episode of Grey's Anatomy but the TV is currently showing this Lantern Festival concert thingy. I want my Grey's!!! Man, I am so going to be dead bored on this rainy Saturday night. Sigh.

Anyway, today is one of those Saturdays that I felt totally reluctant to go to work because the weather was a little cloudy when I woke up and I knew it was going to rain later so I was hoping that I could stay in bed longer. I am currently in the midst of preparing my notes for next week's class. The brand new term is starting next week! How time flies lah. I was actually assigned to become the Course Administrator (which is similiar to guru kelas in high school) for one of the classes this time around. I've met the students during the induction programme and to my surprise, there are more guys than girls in this particular class. This is gonna be interesting no?

The new timetable stated that I was not assigned to teach CGD subject! Well I'm not really sure whether to feel glad or not cos I thought if I was assigned to teach CGD again, then I might improve my computer skills but, I'll still be tutoring for 2 of the guest lecturers so it's all good. What I'm actually worried about is...teaching Design 1 for the first time. Not exactly prepared on this as I've mentioned earlier, I am still in the midst of preparing my notes. I need to revise a lot of things and constantly search for references that I can show to students. The pressure is definitely ON so please wish me luck cos I need it :)

Photobucket
I've only started preparing my notes like two days ago because I've been caught up doing a lot of paper works the past few days.

But then, I can get distracted by other things too which leads to major procrastination again...
Photobucket

The rest of the day was spent  yamcha-ing with Ivan and Ken in Kim Gary. Ken told us that his Raya ad is done but he didn't actually liked it cos there was too many changes from his original idea but I am still looking forward to see it for the first time :) Then reached home and did half of my laundry and also cleaned the entire bathroom. Why is it always me who cleans up the bathroom everytime? I mean I have a housemate who shares the bathroom with me...well, I'm not angry or anything but c'mon know your role!

Sunday night, I will need to go to The Gardens again to help out in dismantling the Merdeka Exhibition. Hopefully everything could be done by midnight cos I have a 9am class the next day! I bet you I am going to have trouble waking up early again.

Oh, I can hear KK calling out my name. Can't wait! Okay, gonna watch Cashmere Mafia now. Have a grreeat Sunday!!! XOXO

P/S: I hardly like rainy days but today is an exception.

September

O Hai! Here's an update...

It's already September 1st! I must admit I've been quite lazy to update my blog, reason being...well, I just needed some rest after all the "hiatus" of being involved with the Merdeka event and then after that, I needed to finish doing all the grading so that I could submit it before the term break ends. Unfortunately, I had to fail some of the students in my CGD class so yeah... kinda felt bad about it but I don't really have a choice.

I thought after all of these are over, I could finally breathe easy and maybe get a little bit of rest but then, I had to move back to the newly revamped office which means I need to use a hell lot of strength to move all my stuffs back. Then a few days ago, I received an email saying that the lects/tutors were asked to update the course outline for LAN submission...*sigh* this also means that I've got more paperwork to do and to tell you the truth I am having quite a hard time doing this man.

So there you go...my life for the past few weeks has been all about work and more work. With one more week to go before the new term commences, I must tell you that I am not 100 percent prepared to handle/teach more classes on my own. At times like this, I really wish to get some blessings from the man above :)

Photobucket
The newly revamped office looked something like this. There are two sides in the office. One is the green colour side and the one on the right is the colour side.

Photobucket
I am seated on the green colour side and here's how my workspace looks like. Well, I am not even sure how I want to decorate this workspace so I'll just leave it as it be...for the moment.

Photobucket

Photobucket
There is a window behind my desk and I love it when the sun shines through but what's not very appealing is the view outside.

I stayed at home the entire day during Merdeka cos obviously I am way too lazy to go out so I ended up getting more sleep, watched Celine Dion's concert (because there was nothing nice on TV) and one episode of Grey's on DVD. I am not a fan of Celine Dion but heck, that woman can sing! My initial plan was to head down to The Annexe Gallery to check out Art For Grabs but knowing that it is a Sunday and not forgetting a public holiday, I knew KL city would be so crowded so I decided to give it a miss plus, I wanted to get more sleep because I had to work tomorrow (which is still a public holiday) in The Gardens, as a penjaga exhibition from 10am till 10pm. 12 hours straight. Great.

Man, I cannot wait to balik KK! It's all I can think about now.

Imma leave you with some random pictures that I've took last week. Hope you guys had a good holiday lah.

Last week, I went for the press preview for the Gardens Merdeka exhibition.

The cultural box installation being displayed at the entrance of The Gardens Boulevard.

Photobucket
Paintings done by the illustration lects.

Photobucket
Students' work. It was actually taken from Design 1 class assignments where the students were asked to create their own interpretation of KLCC based on geometrical and organic shapes.

Photobucket
This is one of my favourite. Don't mind Lewis Hamilton's reflection there heh.

Photobucket
This one was done by a Vietnamese student.

Photobucket
This one is also one of the nicest artwork done by a student. Look at all the details and shapes!

Last but not least, this is gonna be in my birthday+christmas wishlist!

Oh, I just had to post this up cos he won the UEFA player of the year w00t! But ManU just lost to Zenit St Petersburg at the UEFA Super Cup on Friday. Adui...
