Plus this pizza place called Yellow Cab ( I reckon it must've been inspired by NY's yellow cab). Must go and try out the pizza here someday.

Lastly, Earth Hour event in Sunway Pyramid.

Since I haven't been going out much for the past weeks which totally explains why my life is kinda boring, I've decided to go to Capsquare yesterday to have a look at the ECO Bazaar organised by The Threadzoo and also exhibitions and installations for KL Design Week. I was quite worried that I might get lost since I've never been to Capsquare before. I studied and memorised the direction over and over again but once I reached Dang Wangi's LRT station, I totally forgot where Capsquare is located! So I sorta had to follow my instinct and of course I did asked for direction. Turns out, it was just a 5 minutes walking distance from the LRT station. Fyi, I think Dang Wangi's LRT station is kind of creepy! It looked so empty that I had to kept looking around just to assure I am safe.

I met a school mate from my high school when I reached Dang Wangi. Of all the places bah kan...and it was really surprising too! Well, we never hang out in school since we were not in the same class but I could still remember her name! Saw all the One In A Million contestants while hanging around in Capsquare. Decided to go and approach Esther and she thought I was a Japanese *again*. Tsk tsk...I tell you, one day when I marry a Japanese guy (hint: Hanazawa Rui haha), I will go and change my nationality and name to Kyoko or Tomoko or something. But Esther was really friendly though :)

There was an Earth Hour event in Pyramid too last night so I stayed there for a while just to join in the countdown. Did you do your part? Going to meet my cuzzies later! Now it is time for bed...Night!

Asian invasion

I know it's after lunch hour, but...what the heck I don't have any classes today so I'm here doing a quick post. Well, the past few days have been the same. There's just nothing much going on with me and my daily routine of going to work, class, home, eat, sleep is definitely on the repeat mode everyday. But I've also started to watch the Japanese drama Hana Yori Dango, big thanks to Cmone for persuading me to watch it and in exhange you shall watch Hana Kimi! Hahah. So, I know I might be a little late because I'm sure those J-Drama addicts would've watched this drama like 2 years ago?

Anyway, that's what I've been doing when I'm at home during the night. Indulging with TV shows and dramas. And...I think I'm gonna turn into those fangirl again because after watching Hana Yori Dango Season 1(in the span of 3 days), I kept wishing I'll dream of Hanazawa Rui when I'm asleep wtffff.

Finally met up with Ken last night. We went over to Taman Megah's Ming Tien since Ivan and Ken haven't had their dinner yet. Good to be able to catch up and hear his(Ken) new ideas for the upcoming TVCs that he's assigned to do. It's kinda like a privilege to get to know it first hehe.

I did mentioned that my sleeping problem is back again right? Stupid insomnia, it totally makes me feel tired while at work! Last night, I ended up sleeping at 3am again. Two months ago I sort of self declared to be on a coffee/caffeine ban and would only drink coffee when necessary like on Mondays (cos have 3 classes back to back) and yet, I still have trouble sleeping. Buduuuuu...

Bah, back to work. I know this post is getting boring. All I talk about revolves around TV shows or football. Need to get a life man. By the way, have any of you noticed this ad on Facebook before? I wonder who wrote the copy...

On a boring sunday

Photobucket
Done! My colour contrast experiment. Well, I kinda screwed the third one cos I feel the colours doesn't seem so right but...I like imperfection and as I mentioned in my deviantart, imperfection is the new black! Haha. I'm calling this piece 'The Change Of Heart'.

This is totally random but while I was washing my clothes in the afternoon I was thinking how boring my weekends can be here in KL. I mean compared to my weekends back home...it is way more fulfilling. I was wondering, "Hmm...at this hour I'm probably having my lunch while watching CSI: Supreme Sunday but instead, here I am washing my clothes on the sink. Darn. I miss the 'family' feeling and I don't get to feel it here that often. But then I gotta do what I gotta do right?

Anyway, I'm kinda depressed when I went to view pictures from yesterday's Sunburst Festival (which I missed it again) from the Sunburst's FB page. I knew N.E.R.D's performance would be awesome! Haiyaaaa...so tell me (for those who did go), is Pharrell Williams hot? Hahaha and did they performed 'Everybody Nose?' I think I missed quite a number of concerts because I can't really find a 'kaki' who would be as excited as I am when a band or an artist that I like is coming down here for a concert. Jamiroquai anybody?

Sooo how did I spent my Sunday besides doing my laundry? Well, I made brunch today as you can see at the picture below. I haven't had spaghetti for a long time so I decided to cook it today. It's spaghetti with baby carrots and fish mackerel (from Ayam Brand haha).

In the evening I went for a jog (like FINALLY) at the lake outside. After two rounds of running I was already exhausted. My stamina super FAIL lah. Even the uncle could run more rounds than me. So I opt for half walking, half running instead.

Oh, managed to watch two movies from the piles of DVDs that I have here. Paul Blart Mall Cop and also this Japanese movie called Crows Zero. I actually knew about the movie since last year when my cousin Arnold asked me, Jesse and Drey to watch it. He said "Syok ni movie...banyak lawan-lawan," Well, I wasn't that keen to watch it at that time but when I found out that Shun Oguri was in the movie, I decided to get the DVD and finally watched it today. I actually liked it, despite all the violence fighting here and there. Japan's school uniform is so nice lah! Can't wait for part two of this movie soon XD.
Sigh...how boring my life is during the weekends huh? Okay, gotta go and grab something to eat now. Another brand new week tomorrow! Let's hope it's going to be a good one aight. ManU lost again wtf!!!

Char Kuey Teow and Asam Laksa

I watched Marley & Me yesterday night and as much as I tried to hold back my tears, I just can't. Such a heart warming movie, it made me miss my dogs and cats back home. Well eventhough they are kampung dogs and cats, I still love 'em.

Yeap, I was supposed to tell the news as promised. So, about two months ago my then Head of Department(HOD) told me that I would be deported send to another state to teach. But when the HOD informed me about the news, it wasn't really 100 percent confirmed yet. Just that, the college sort of suggested my name to go and teach at the college's new branch (which is coming soon). I really have no idea why my name was suggested but I reckon it must be
a) because I am capable enough to handle this task.
b) I currently don't have any major commitment (like getting married, or having children) hence I can take up the offer.
c) The college doesn't think I am worthy enough to work in KL therefore they are planning to deport me to another state haha.

Okay, I'm kidding on the (c) reason. But I guess most rational reason would be (b)? Few weeks ago, one of the senior lecturer talked to me about this plan again and what are the things being offered if I actually take this task. One thing I'm glad to know is that it's going to be a back and forth thing, meaning I won't be staying at the other state permanently but will still be based here in KL. I'll give you hint on which state I'll be going...the place is famous for its Char Kuey Teow and Laksa.

Oklah it's Penang bah =D. As I said, I probably will need to stay there for like two days and be back in KL again after that. So, after giving much thought I have decided to take up the offer BUT at this moment I am still not absolutely sure whether I am confirmed to go there or not. We shall wait and see lah. This is just to inform you (my family and friends), who actually reads my blog about this news :)

/end of news flash.

This morning I received a call from Loong, one of my college bestie all the way from Singapura! Well, we actually planned to go to Sunburst Music Festival together since we did talked briefly about it last week on msn but turns out...we won't be going to Sunburst after all :( I'm gonna miss it again this year. Really wanted to see N.E.R.D perform but what to do lah. He said I should come over to Singapore and kawan him to see N.E.R.D perform instead haha. Yeah, maybe I should pay him a visit one of these days. I mean, I've only been to Singapore once and that was way back when I haven't even hit puberty yet.

You know what? I think my sleeping problem is slowly crawling back again! How can this be? I was able to wake up early successfully last month but now, it seems to be a failure again. It's just weird cos no matter how tired I am from working, I'd still end up sleeping past midnight like on Monday night, I slept at 3am. This is bad.

Aight, on to some random pictures. I was planning to join Project 365, where you take a photo a day for 1 whole year but I guess I was too late for that.

Photobucket
The reason why I actually slept at 3am on Monday night was because I was up doing some painting and experiment on colours (for class purpose). This was also the time when I sat on the floor for more than 4 hours which made my back and neck in pain.

Photobucket
Wasn't able to finish it so I'll continue it by tomorrow *crosses fingers*

Photobucket
Received two free copies of backdated TIME magazine cos there was a promotion going on in the college so a good man came into the office and gave us free copies! I was reading the article about Nelson Mandela. Wooo...I feel so intellectual now hahah.

Photobucket
I received postcards from random strangers last week! I recently join this project called postcrossing where you send postcards to random strangers from around the globe and then you'll receive back from random strangers too. The left one is from Estonia and the right one is from Frankfurt, Germany.

Then, another postcard arrived yesterday all the way from Texas.

Photobucket

Love the stamps too :)

Weekend's almost here! Can't wait. Okay, going to get my weekly dose of How I Met Your Mother now. Still love love love the show!

The great defeat

now that don't kill me
can only make me stronger
-Kanye West, Stronger

Soooo... I reckon all the non- MU fans were probably singing songs of joy last Saturday seeing that they've lost to their rival, Liverpool. I did managed to watch the match at the malay stall downstairs with random strangers. Well I WAS disappointed for sure, I mean c'mon 4-1? Ko gila kah? But what to do lah kan? Maybe it wasn't MU's lucky day. No point to be utterly disappointed because by the end of the day MU, is still on top of the league and *crosses fingers* they will remain up there to regain the EPL title :D By the way, why is Fernando Torres hot? Hahahaha.

I've been sitting on the floor for more than 4 hours and my back and neck is aching! I wish I have a proper workplace in my room plus not forgetting a table lamp too. I really need that. I kept telling myself to go and pay a visit to IKEA but I always ended up not going *sigh*

Oh I was supposed to blog about this news but seeing the time is now already 2am and my back is seriously in pain, I'll blog about it soon. Probably after Wednesday lah. So, have a great week ahead.

The debut

While watching American Idol last night, I had a quick chat with Ken via msn. Well, at first our conversation was kinda weird cos he was asking me if I am Vivien from TOA or not. I was like, duh...just because we haven't seen each other for almost two months he can't recall who I am already? Anyway, he was asking me to watch his latest TVC on youtube. Ivan had earlier told me that he(Ken) was involved in the Earth Hour TVC. Btw, Earth Hour in Malaysia will be held on March 28th, so please don't forget to support by switching off your lights from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

I blogged about Ken's first TVC for Petronas during the 2008 CNY here *click*

When he asked me to watch the TVC, I thought it was just a normal TVC where he came up with the idea and some local talents would act in it. But to my ultimate surprise, HE was actually in the TVC too! My mouth turned into a big O and literally laughed out loud while watching it. I hope my housemates won't think I'm insane laughing alone in my room haha. Okay, the reason I laughed is because Ken's my friend and I know who he is so seeing him debuting in a TVC for the first time was like...whoaaa! I'm sure he's happy to be in the ad since one of his lifelong dream was to be an actor pffft. So, hopefully he'll be in the next Yasmin Ahmad's movie lah. Here's the video. I wanted to post it in FB too but someone had already posted it so here it is in my blog. Gotta catch up with him soon and ask him all about this :) Pete Teo is in the TVC too fyi.

I feel like I've been abandoning my blog these days...well, it's just that there's nothing much interesting going on so far hence the lack of posts. It's been the same ol' routine for me, work, home, tv, sleep, surfing the net...yeap that's about it. The semester's ending soon and it has come to the crucial time again where students are starting their final projects and I have to do a one on one critique with 'em.

As much as I am having quite a mundane life here, I'm still fine so no worries about me lah. I do miss home sometimes...well actually most of the times but I learnt to deal with it so it's all good. On some happy note, Manchester United is in for the Champion's League quarter finals cos they defeated Inter Milan 2-0 wohoooo! Not that I did watched the match anyway, but I wish I did *sigh* Hopefully I can watch the EPL match this coming Saturday where they will be facing with The Reds again. Haih, suddenly Liverpool makin kuat sudah ni. Misti pasal Torres balik sudah bah.

I went to a seminar organised by Adobe yesterday in One World Hotel, 1U. The speaker was introducing some new functions on the new Adobe CS4 Design Premium. Did learnt some new stuffs and man, I wish I was the lucky one to bring back the original Adobe CS4 Creative Suite 4! It was worth 10k but, I wasn't lucky enough lah. But I did bought back the 30-day trial version BUT unfortunately I can't install it because it's for Windows :(

So in case you want to borrow it or I could actually give it out for free (in exchange for 1 milo ais :D), just ask me for it k!

Photobucket

Ohhhh...okay, yes I admit I'm one of the people who watch American Idol every week. Can't help it la it's my source of entertainment. Anyway, I think Adam Lambert's rendition of MJ's Black or White was niceeeeee! Not forgetting Danny Gokey (he's my favourite haha) singing PYT and also Kris Allen's rendition of Remember The Time.

I'm gonna turn my fan girl mode on now...don't you think Danny and Kris looks cute when they smile? Somehow I wish the contestants would perform Billie Jean or Rock With You or Man In The Mirror! Sigh...MJ has so many nice songs bah :)

I realised I wrote quite random stuffs here...okaylah time for bed now. Weekend's almost here!

Cartoon heroes

Okay, this is totally random. I've watched some movie trailers last night including the upcoming movie, Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman. Anyway, the character Gambit is going to be in the movie too and it's acted by this guy called Taylor Kitsch. If you've watched the TV series Friday Night Lights (it was on Star World sometime ago), or watched the movie called The Covenant then you would know who he is. Not a bad looking lad don't you think?

You know what cartoon series that I would love/hope to make it on the big screen? It's JEM! I lurrrrve this cartoon and I used to watch it all the time. I can still remember how the theme song goes. Maybe Lady GaGa would act in this movie too hahahaha....okay not funny.

I like it when public holiday falls on Monday. It means you can drag your weekends longer like today! But I'm staying in...just like most of the public holidays while I'm here in KL. Plus it's drizzling outside and the sky looks cloudy and that's when my lazy mode kicked back in. Jesse was here last night, she just arrived from Indon and stayed over at my crib. I was really happy to see her! But too bad we couldn't hang out much since she needs to catch a flight back to KK today :( But I will see you in a few weeks time again!

Hope you guys had an awesome weekend. I did went to watch a movie on Saturday. I decided to watch Sex Drive and it was just an A-OK movie lah. Very American Pie-ish, but I reckon American Pie is way better :)

Grow old with you

Someday if I am going to tie the knot, I would definitely (well hopefully) design my own wedding invitation. It's one of the things that I've always wanted to do heh. Have I ever mentioned that I love wedding invites? I have a whole lot of collections that I've kept for years at home.

Anyway, hopefully when I have the chance to design my own wedding invite, I would really love to make it memorable so that people can keep it and won't forget me and the (future) husband: Edward Cullen haha. I found this really interesting wedding invite via Design For Mankind and I absolutely love the idea!

In October 2008, director of Mash Dom
Roberts was lucky enough to marry the
beautiful Helena. Dom took a week away
from other projects to concentrate on
creating a unique and memorable piece
to be used as a wedding invitation. The
concept was to use the concept of ‘growing
old together’. Face shots were then taken
of the bride and groom which Dom then
used as a basis to create a chronological
representation of their aging faces into the
future. 10, 20, 30 and 40 years into the
future, growing old together. The scarily
realistic results where then presented in
an A5 booklet on uncoated paper with
thread stitching. This was packaged in a
specially designed pack and printed with
one colour ink. Many a laugh was had by
those invited to the big day.

Official website here *click*

As expected, this week has been a busy week for me. I have replacement classes everyday and I almost forgot one of the important tasks to do which is archiving students' artworks. Okay, I did not forget la...just that there are still a few more archives to be done but I forgot about the dateline (it's tomorrow btw). Can't wait for the long weekends again where I will have the chance to go to the cinema and watch new movies! =D Aight, back to watching American Idol. Nites.

March oh nine

So I've finally received the photos from the company's annual dinner which was held back in January. I didn't blogged about it but just to let you know, the dinner was good. Food was good! (this is the most important part haha) and also I managed to win some $$$ during the lucky draw =D Well, the amount wasn't as big as the grand price BUT it's better than nothing right? This is one of the photos that all of us looked well...decent.

One of my colleague said that...I looked like Xena. Seriously, Xena THE PRINCESS WARRIOR???? Omg, it has to be my square shaped face kan? OR the fact that I have flabby arms??? *sigh* Anyway, got my heels for a good price a day before the annual dinner...thank goodness for sales!

It's already the month of March and I'm really looking forward on what will this brand new month is offering. More tasks to handle? Hmmm...it could be. I am still determine to continue achieving my goal this month which is to wake up early everyday haha (okay, on weekdays lah) and surprise, surprise I actually have been waking up early for the past one month! You see, this might not mean anything to you but because I've been having this I-can't-sleep-early-I-only-sleep-at-3am syndrome for a long time, this is by far one of those little achievements that I am absolutely proud of.

Take for example like last night, I couldn't sleep. I watched Grey's Anatomy Season 5 ep 16 (love this episode too cos McDreamy pigi tumbuk McSteamy haha) and by the time I finished watching it, the time was already 2.30am. So I turned off the lights and lay on the bed...turning and tossing for a few times and little did I know I've been doing it for half and hour! I realised I just couldn't sleep so I ended up watching this documentary on the telly about bees and and ants, which was totally fascinating! So there I was, switching my geek mode on and got intrigued by ants and bees for one whole hour.

It must've been that 'yin yong' that I drank on the afternoon hence making me wide awake at night. I ended up sleeping at 4am but miraculously still managed to wake up early and be in the college on time today :) *pats self* So yeap, once you know that you've managed to achieve all the monthly little goals that you've set to do by the end month, I assure you it'll make you a happier person righttttt???

Okays, that's it for now. Will be quite busy with a few replacement classes this week. Have a good week everybody. Rock on! Oh btw, ManU won the Carling Cup last night! Didn't get the chance to watch it though...
