Break of dawn

I finally signed in for Twitter. Well since June 1st to be exact. Reason being, is because I won't look cool if I don't have a Twitter account haha. NOT. Just wanted to try it out actually cos I think it's easier to update with what I'm currently up to via Twitter. Anyway, I've only got like only 3 followers...how sad is that? But you can follow me if you want and I'll do the vice versa to you too. Might be considering to privatise my account one of these days...we'll see how it goes first :)

So it's been like a week since my last update. Been wanting to blog but over the week I've been feeling demotivated over everything, work especially. No idea why but it's probably because half of the semester is gone and I just felt that my motivation to work is slowly pulling me back. Not a really good thing I tell you but...I don't know why I am feeling this way. But anyho, the 'exploration' week is here and I won't be having classes on some of the days so hopefully, during this really short break, I'll regain my motivation back. I think part of the reason why I get so demotivated was because I somehow got quite disappointed over some students whom I felt did not put extra effort in their assignments.

I am not sure whether it was me that did not deliver enough lectures/info/references/demos for them or it's just them who just couldn't even bother to work really hard. Most of the time, I'll take the blame but the other day, I was browsing through google reader then I found this:
Yes, I constantly need to be reminded of this! I used to ponder during the nights when I am home, thinking and analysing on reasons why this and that happened at work or why there are students who just don't give a shit on whatever you're telling them to do. But at least I did tried to do whatever I can right? It's not like I'm the one who needs to be blamed for trying. So yeah, I need to learn to move the f**k on even if I get disappointed on things that doesn't go my way.

Other things that has been happening for the past week...

The death of the King Of Pop.
Wow...it is still unbelievable to know that MJ's gone. I mean, I wouldn't say that I am the craziest fan of him because if I am, I would've owned all his albums but I've got only one and the rest of his songs were downloaded cough*illegally*cough. But still, I did grew up listening to his songs like Thriller, Beat It, Bad, Black Or White...etc and I knew very well that he's a global icon. That morning when I found out that he's dead, I was walking to work listening and singing to PYT (one of my fav songs) on my mp3 and then I was greeted with the news that he's gone on yahoo's homepage. I was seriously stunned! I was staring at the computer screen thinking, man is this for real?' Took me a while to finally absorb the fact that he really is gone.

Putting all his controversial stuffs aside, I honestly think he's a true legend and it saddens me to know that he'll never continue making those great music anymore. During one of the yamcha nights that I had with Ivan, there was one time where we talked about how excited we were to know that he(MJ) is making a comeback concert this coming July. We were looking forward for people to post videos in youtube so that we'll have the chance to see how the This Is It concert going to be. Looks like we won't have the chance after all :( Anyway, RIP MJ! Will always love your music.

WSD Alumni Gathering
I was invited to my grad school, WSD alumni gathering last Friday since the ex-principle Prof. Hazel was in town for the postgrad Asia fair which was held last weekend. So the initial plan was to go to Padi House (just a few metres away from KLCC) with Zahariz BUT on that day of the gathering, he sent me a text message saying that he couldn't make it. Basically he ffk-ed me lah. Sooo...I had to take the public transport to go all the way down to KLCC alone! Had a pretty good time there, I don't exactly know half of the people there to be honest. Managed to meet my 'external moderator', the one who I had to present my degree project to (thinking about it makes me feel so emo wtf) but I doubt she still remembers me haha.

Good to be able to meet up the seniors Dee, Kenneth and Lina plus my coffee buddy/batch mate Tok! I haven't seen him for almost 2 years! Hazel was still as nice as ever cos she gave each and everyone of us Chocolate Fish lol! Man, how miss eating that :) Back in grad school, Hazel used to give students chocolate fish as a treat if we did something well and I remembered I did received one or two from her before. This is a photo that I stole from WSD's Facebook cos I am too lazy to transfer my photos into the desktop hehe.

The chocolate fish has a new design now. The last I remembered, it used to look like this:

Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen
Err...everyone seems to have watched the movie already and I am one of the less unfortunate person who still haven't watch it yet. I also felt that everybody seems to "know" a lot about the robots and all that stuffs even for those who've never watched the cartoon before but to tell you the truth, I am still pretty much a n00b when it comes to knowing all the characters and the story in Transformers because I remembered I don't really watch the cartoon when I was young. I was watching Jem and The Holograms all the way haha. Will probably catch the movie today or anyday this week. You know what movie that I am currently looking forward to watch? The Proposal!

This pretty much sums up what's been going on last week. I did had a good weekend as well despite having to do quite a lot of house chores urrgghhh...my room is in a huge mess again and there are still unfinished laundry to do. Oh, I did a painting too but it's still halfway done. No idea why I actually wanted to draw a rooster this time.

Haven't had the time to post more photos of Shah's wedding. Guess it needs more time lah. It's already friggin' 3am! This is why I shouldn't drink coffee wei. July's coming soon! Anyone wants to go and watch Akon in Sunway Lagoon?

Well, better head to bed now. I'm leaving you with my most favourite song by Michael Jackson, Rock With You. Have a good week people. Stay out of trouble hehe.

Monuments and melodies

Here are the wedding photos of my cousin (oklah, actually my nephew) Shah and his wife Shafinaz, starting off with the Akad Nikah ceremony which was held on June 8th at Sutera House, Sutera Harbour. It was actually my first time ever attending a malay wedding so it was definitely a good experience and I'm really great to have attended the event; even if I had to use up my savings to buy the air ticket and cancelling some of my classes. Just like the rest of my close cousins, I've known Shah for sooo long and I wouldn't miss the chance to attend his biggest day of his life. If you're in my FB list, you've probably seen these pictures already :)

Before the Akad Nikah started, there was a photo shoot going on near the gazebo outside.

This would be my favourite part of the house.

I thought the Akad Nikah process was going to be long but instead it was pretty fast and easy too.

The Imam doing all the explaining while Shah listened intently.

This is also my first time ever seeing Shah's wife in person.

Then the merenjis session starts...

Here are the cousins who grew up with Shah too.

Whitney and Nado has grown!

First cousins. Valerie (in green) just got married last Saturday but too bad I wasn't able to attend it.

Photobucket
With Myq who came all the way from Manila. This is my second time meeting him. Met him for the first time back in January 2008. *click* A very nice lad indeed :)

Photobucket
With Drey, my florist partner hehe.

Photobucket
Borrowed Jesse's baju kurung that night. I think we all looked lovely here :)

Photobucket
Last but not least, this is Shah taking a break and lepak-ed with us for a while in Mierah's room.

Not that much photos to share actually but that pretty much sums up the Akad Nikah ceremony. After everybody went home, Drey and I continued working as florists because we still need to work on removing thorns from the roses andddd guess what time we went home? 5.30am. Yeap, no kid. That was after transferring all the flowers to Magellan Sutera Ballroom. Managed to watch the sunrise from my bedroom window and slept till noon.

Will post the pictures during the reception in Magellan right after I have the time to edit it. Been having trouble sleeping the last two days. Not sure if the insomnia is coming back to hunt me again but I've been waking up at 3-4am and after that I find it so effin' hard to get back to sleep again. The weather's been shitty too hence it's draining all my energy to work.

P/S: Incubus's greatest hits album is out now!

Apple bottom jeans

Here are some of the things that I did/went during my very 'brief' break in KK. Wished I had more time to do or go to more places and spend more time with everybody though. BUT, the most important thing was, I did made an obligatory visit to YOYO on my first day of arrival hehe :)

The day before Shah's Akad Nikah ceremony, I worked as a florist together with Audrey helping out with the flower arrangements. We were asked to cut out all the thorns from all the roses that has been bought for the wedding. You have noooo idea how crazy this work is! We had to be extra careful dealing with 'em roses since we all know how the thorns can bloody sting your fingers. Next time when I want to receive flowers, I would definitely go for carnations or lilies for sure.

It was a tiring process but I believe we did learned a thing or two about handling flowers hehe.

I found out that the pink roses are the most beautiful ones.

This was also part of my work. Poking apples into satay sticks. While I was doing this, my mind kept singing that Low song from Flo Rida, I've no idea why. Apple bottom jeans, boots with the furrrrr....

The result...

During one of the nights, I had dinner with my cuzzies in Grace Point, Sembulan. I love that place. Love the whole ambience of it and the toilet is really nice too! Since I haven't been eating Kadazan foods for quite sometime, I ordered this. It's called Pinasakan.

I ordered extra hinava for Audrey and me because...hinava is ♥♥♥!

Made a point to meet up with the girlfriends (because I don't get to do this while I'm here on the west side, true story haha)

The people working in Secret Recipe Warisan were really friendly to us...so I wouldn't mind going back there again next time :)

Had dinner in Fish & Co Warisan on my last night in KK with the cuzzies.

Okay, I can't recall the name is this drink...Chunkie something? Anne apa tu ah? Tasted good!

In case you're wondering, I did spent equal time with my parents too. I am still a good daughter bah haha (at least I guess so). Next up will be pictures of Shah's wedding...

It's already Monday and I don't feel like I'm ready to embrace the week. Lots of things have been going through my mind again. Anyway, you know the biggest mistake that C. Ronaldo did was not moving to Real Madrid but to hook up with Paris freaking Hilton! WTF are you thinking man?????? Cheh, not that he cares anyway kannnn?

Okay, Imma try to go to bed now. Nite people!

Reality bites

Hello everybodyyyyy I am back on the west side and damn, why is KL super hazy now? Anyway, just finished my class a while ago and I prolly need to stay in the office longer just to prepare everything for Monday's class. *sigh*

Yesterday morning while I was flipping to ESPN channel on the telly, I was greeted with the news of Cristiano Ronaldo's 80 million pound transfer to freaking Real Madrid! Wtf, I really thought he's gonna stay for one more season but I guess he's not which really sucks because...I bought my tix to watch ManU in Bukit Jalil next month and he's definitely not going to come down here. Blah! Anddd not only because of this but I *strongly* feel that it's still quite early for him to leave ManU. But I guess when it is time to move on, we just have to get on with it right? Oh well, I bet Fergie will definitely buy another potential player to replace him soon.

I had a really good time when I was back in KK. Shah's wedding was superb as well but I'll talk more on that in the next post with pictures (hopefully I can edit it soon) to share. My cuzzies kept me company most of the time and I am absolutely grateful for that. It was good while it lasted but it's back to reality now...and it sucks big time. Well not exactly la but you get what I mean right? Will be back again in 6 months time so no worries!

Balik kampung again

Can you believe it's Friday already????Man where did all the time go huh? Since today's Friday, it means I'll be flying off to KK tomorrow! You know what, for some odd reasons I kinda felt guilty taking 5 days off from work just to go back home. Why is that? I mean I shouldn't feel that way but maybe it's because I'm taking leave in the middle of the semester and I had to cancel 3 of my classes next week. BUT, looking on the bright side I *think* I deserve this short holiday seeing that I've been working my ass off in the last four months or so especially during the time when my insomnia has slightly gone out of hand.

Sooo...there's no reason for me to feel guilty about it right? Plus I've made arrangements to replace the 3 cancelled classes too. I guess everything would be A-OK. Anyway, what I've been doing for the past few days was just normal stuffs, nothing special. Been watching loads of random stuffs on youtube like Jem & The Holograms cartoon, NGs for Boys Before Flowers, a kid dancing The Whisper Song by The Ying Yang Twins and even Edison Chen's interview on CNN. The watching-random-stuffs-on-youtube cycle goes on every night. I know, I don't really have a life here heh.

Hopefully I'll be able to do an update or two while I'm in KK but I highly doubt so since there's no more internet connection at home and I prolly might need to borrow Jesse's broadband to surf the net. If that's the case, then I'll be back in two week's time ok! Geez, belum start packing lagi lah...

The month of June

Guess it is still not too late for me to wish Kotobian Tadau Kaamatan to all the Sabahans. Hopefully you guys had a good time celebrating it seeing that the Harvest Festival falls during the weekends hence Monday is an off day too. Celebrated Kaamatan here with Anne, Evor and my brother last Saturday. Nothing much really, it was just a meet up session with my family slash people that I am close with. Had a pretty good time and it was indeed another well spent weekend :) Anne and Baby Lia are back in KK now but I'll be seeing 'em again soon!

Anyway, it's already the month of June! I'm proud to say that I did managed to achieve most of the goals that I've set for last month well, except for that "trying to sleep early goal". But still, it must be something right? Since I hardly could achieve any of the goals that I've set for myself. So for this month, my goals would be:

1. Read more books or at least finish reading some of my novels that I've been currently put on hold.
2. Watch a movie in the cinema.
3. Do another painting or two.
4. Attend Urbanscapes at KLPac.
5. Visit Kinokuniya or Borders (if I have the time)
6. Be motivated (same as last month)

Oh, I've just watched New Moon's (the sequeal to Twilight) trailer yesterday and all I can say is...I am totally looking forward for the movie to come out in November! Also looking forward to see how the werewolves pack going to be in the movie as well :) But or now, I should just control myself from becoming one of those squealing teens and wait patiently for November to arrive. Watched the trailer more than 3 times btw haha. Watch the trailer here *click*

Aight, have a grrreaaat month ahead!
