Not another typical teen flick

source
I watched this Brit teen flick movie called Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (ATAPS) last Saturday night and it was surprisingly good! I'm not exactly a fan of Brit movies and sometimes I can't even understand British humour because I'm an occasional bimbo haha plus I never actually like those British invented words (e.g snogging) Why can't it just be kissing instead of snogging? But because I love watching teen flicks, this movie I must say,  is a watch-worthy one especially if you're staying at home on a Saturday night with nothing else to do, like me...loser much?

The director of this movie, Gurinder Chandha also directed the 2002 teen flick, Bend It Like Beckham. If you've watched that movie before then you might want to give ATAPS a try :)

Synopsis taken from here:
ANGUS, THONGS AND PERFECT SNOGGING is a hilarious coming of age story – Gurinder Chadha’s very British take on American high school movies like 'Clueless' and ‘Mean Girls’. Based on the International best-selling series of books by Louise Rennison, the film follows the eccentric and irresistible GEORGIA NICOLSON as she overcomes the trauma of being a teenager and moves up the ‘snogging scale’.

Misunderstood by her ancient parents, but buoyed up by the love of her cat ANGUS and her bessie mates the ACE GANG, GEORGIA struggles through life seeking out her two main desires: 1. To get a gorgeous sex-god as her boyfriend. 2. To throw the greatest 15th birthday party ever.

When handsome brothers TOM and ROBBIE arrive at school, GEORGIA thinks her boyfriend dreams have been answered. But when she sees ROBBIE with her arch rival LINDSAY, she devises a plan to show ROBBIE that she’s the mature, sophisticated girlfriend he deserves. Unfortunately GEORGIA’s plans - involving snogging lessons, stalking LINDSAY, and dying her legs orange - don’t exactly run smoothly.

Alongside her own romance problems GEORGIA's parents are going through a turbulent time, with the result that GEORGIA feels the responsibility for holding the family together rests on her shoulders.

In her quest to get ROBBIE and keep her family from splitting, GEORGIA transforms from a selfish girl into a young woman who’s grown beyond the valley of the fab and into the universe of marvy.

Few things I liked about the movie: Interesting story lines, funny characters ( e.g stone aged parents lol), funny scripts, good choice of music and that main two British boys are actually cute hehe.

I actually liked the guy who plays Robbie in the movie. There's just something really attractive about him and the fact that he's in a band and also a bassist, makes him even more likeable ;) I never really thought British lads can be attractive, I mean I've watched the English Premier League for so many times and seriously, there's not so much eye candy to see there...well except for David Beckham and Theo Walcott. They're probably the only two decent looking ones...and maybe Stevie Gerrard too.

Definitely wouldn't mind watching this movie for the second time. Thanks Merl for lending the DVD to me :) One of the scene that made me totally LOL was when the main character Georgia asked her friend about the first thing that he noticed in a girl.

Georgia: Dave, what's the first thing you notice in a girl?
Dave The Laugh: Well, most lads would say eyes. But they're lying.
Dave The Laugh: It's your nunganungas (the boobies).
Georgia: What?
Georgia: Why do you call them nunganungas?
Dave The Laugh: Well, 'cause when you get hold of one, and then let it go it goes nunga, nunga, nunga!

HAHAHAHA! Cracks me up man. If you've watched this movie before, tell me what you think!
